I don’t know if I have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome because my right hand is hurting and bothering me a lot these few days. I rubbed my hands, wrists, fingers and arms to minimize the tingling sensation. I was scared about carpal tunnel syndrome because my husband told me that if I have that kind of illness, then I won’t be able to use the keyboard anymore because it will hurt my wrist more. I researched online about how to test if a person has carpal tunnel syndrome and I followed those simple test and based on my test, it seemed like my symptoms doesn’t meet the carpal tunnel syndrome. Accordingly, if a person suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome, it will be hard for them to flex their wrists and they will experience the sharp pain between the wrist’s nerves, tingling and numbness sensation of the thumbs. So far when I flexed my wrists I don’t have any problem at all. However, the tingling and the little pain in my index and middle fingers are present.
Carpal tunnel syndrome – is associated with repetitive activities of the hand and wrist, particularly with a combination of forceful and repetitive activities. It produces a series of symptoms from mild to extreme. These symptoms worsen over time and patients that have been diagnosed with CTS experience numbness, tingling, or burning sensations in the thumb and fingers, particularly the index and middle fingers, which are innervated by the median nerve. Individuals also experience pain in the hands or wrists and some report to have lost gripping strength. Pain also develops in the arm and shoulder and swelling of the hand, which increases at night.
I even went youtube and searched about carpal tunnel syndrome videos and I found a lot of information about it. I also watched the wrist yoga and home therapy to ensure the normal blood flow circulation in my hands. After I did the wrist yoga and therapy I felt a little better. The tingling went away but it triggers whenever I start using the keyboard. I might have developed a mild case of carpal tunnel syndrome. It scares me though. I need to continue my wrist exercise to avoid making it worse.
