Yesterday (January 3, 2011) we drove up to the mountain to see some snow. We arrived at Lake Cuyamaca with disappointment because there wasn’t any snow. We thought we wasted our time driving up there. But before we head to the mountain we checked the weather forecast and they were saying that it’s snowing up in the mountain. We stopped at the Lake Cuyamaca restaurant and ask them for directions to Palomar mountain; rather they told us to go to Mt. Laguna because it’s snowing up there at that time. That gave us hope that our trip to the mountain wasn’t in vain. It was our first time to go to Mt. Laguna and sure enough it was snowing when we got there. The snow is not a lot but it was enough for sledding. There were a lot of families up there playing with the snow. We find our spot and we started sledding. We had so much fun and it was our second snow as a family. However, it was our daughter’s first snow since she was born. We went to Mt. Julian later that afternoon and there wasn’t any snow either but we were there to buy some pie at Mom’s bakery. Mt. Julian is known for thier good pies.
