Natural disaster strikes unexpectedly

When Mother Nature strike’s the earth no one can get away with it. Natural calamities can sometimes be merciless. I’m sure many of us have heard about the news in the Philippines about the flash floods where thousands of cadavers were found and thousands of people lost their homes and families. They need our help in any way we can. I actually called my mom and asked her if she can set aside some used clothes for donations. Thousands of people need food, shelter and clothing and thankfully many people have golden heart who offered help to all the survivors.

Since majority of my families and relatives are nurse by profession, I would like to ask them if they can donate their used uniforms and give it to those people who need it as they go back to schools (medical or nursing) and work (medical related jobs). She referred me to her job

A friend of mine gave me some tips on where to apply for a job. She said that the agency where she’s working at is looking for some position related to my qualifications. She said that the hospital where she’s employed at is looking for an administrative assistant and she told me to try and submit an application and resume online. I did yesterday, and she told me to put her name as referral because the manager knows her. Hopefully I will get a phone call from that company. I just can’t wait to work and if I’m hired, it’ll be my dream job because I really want to work in a medical facility and wear scrub as one of my uniforms.

Future job

I’d like to wear scrubs uniforms someday. When my son had his first dental appointment I found out that one of the sisters in our congregation works in the front desk. I asked her how long has she been working there and how did she get the job. I asked her if she went to a medical school for her to be able to work in that clinic and she said “NO”. According to her that she just submitted her job application and she was hired. She got me thinking. I thought to myself, why not try to submit a resume and apply as a front desk receptionist in any medical facilities here in our place. I would love to work in a clinic or offices as a receptionist.

Friendly nurses

Yesterday afternoon was my daughter’s first appointment since she was discharged from the hospital about 6 days ago. I think my daughter got used to seeing people wearing nursing uniforms because whenever she sees a person wearing scrubs or cherokee medical uniform she’ll point to her wound and say “booboos” at the same time. Well, for those people who don’t know that my daughter was hospitalized a few weeks ago, she accidentally burned her foot on our space heater and she was admitted in the hospital for about a week.

There were days and nights when I wasn’t there for my daughter, the nurses took care of her on my behalf. She’s with the nurses at the nursing station most of the time. Most of the nurses and some patients adored my daughter because she makes them smile. She likes to be held. One time the nurse was holding her and my daughter hugged her while rubbing on her back, the nurse then asked me why she is doing that. I jokingly said “you probably have 100 cotton scrubs uniform and she loves the texture of your clothes” and we all laughed. Seriously, I told her, that’s her way of saying I love you. Then the nurse said “aawwwww, she’s a sweet baby”.
